YouTube: Explaining Trailhead in Plain English

YouTube

In May of 2019, after being with Salesforce for almost three years, I decided to start building my understanding of how Salesforce works. I used Trailhead, Salesforce's learning platform, to study and practice using the tech.

I knew I could study and just sorta space out while learning. So I decided to record myself going through the videos and publishing them to YouTube. My videos were long, unedited, rambling, and yet people watched them. I realized that there was a need to have the Trailhead modules explained to people in plain English. Many of the modules were written for developers, or at least for people who've had a career in business. I knew that there were many people like me who came to the world of business and technology later in their careers and needed many concepts explained in plain English.

Many of my videos have tens of thousands of views. But what really matters to me are the notes I get from people on LinkedIn and on my YouTube comments, like this one:

Hi Jeff. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for creating so many helpful videos. Last year I followed along as I worked my way through the SF admin. Trailmix. I now tutor/mentor student at Calbright College and share your videos often. What I like most about your videos is how 'real' they are.

Or just:

Jeff - this video is 🔥🥇 https://youtu.be/0Bhsa1QvxWU

Either way, it's good to know that I'm helping people out and making complex stuff easy to understand.
